Design & Technology
In the Bushey Hall School design and technology department we aim to provide all pupils with the encouragement and support to develop their full potential in all the areas of design and technology. Pupils will develop the skills, knowledge and understanding to design and make quality products in:
Engineering, Food, Graphic Products, Product Design, Resistant Materials and Textiles.

Key stage 3 – Years 7 to 9
All pupils in key stage 3 study all four areas of D&T, they have two single periods a week of D&T, and each period is one hour long.
The groups are taught on a ‘Carousel’ basis and they move from one area of D&T to another area every nine - ten weeks.
The subject contents and scheme of work is set by the school and is based on the requirements of the national curriculum for design and technology.
Key stage 4 – Years 10 to 11
All pupils in key stage 4 can study all four areas of D&T. They have three periods a week of D&T, and each period is either one or two hours long.
The groups are taught are taught by one particular teacher throughout the year covering many topics within the specific subject.
The subject contents and scheme of work is set by the school and is based on the requirements of the exam board and national curriculum for KS4 design and technology.
