Holi Festival

On Wednesday March 20th, we celebrated the Hindu festival of Holi. The Holi festival is also known as the Celebration of Colour and is a Hindu Festival designed to celebrate the triumph of good over evil.  The festival is celebrated across the world, and participants also throw coloured powder and water over each other to celebrate the natural colour we find in the world.
Students from year 7,8 and sixth form were invited to come to festival. We started the festival with eating Indian food which was accompanied by Ms Thesia explaining the origins of Holi to the students.  The students then went outside accompanied by Mr McCarthy, Mr Parker and Ms Hill. The pupils were given cups to fill with different coloured powders and started throwing the coloured powder at each other and the teachers. By the end everyone was covered in coloured powder. The students said they had a lot of fun.
