The Bushey Academy will promote excellence in all aspects of Business and Communication education with all students engaging with the specialism in all key stages. It will use its specialist status to raise standards of achievement and the quality of learning in Business and Communication. In addition to this the curriculum will have a strong focus on the core subjects and languages across all age and ability ranges.
The specialism will permeate all areas of the curriculum and will be evident throughout the Academy. It will contribute to whole school improvement by developing innovative approaches to teaching and learning. It will be a requirement that all students study a Business and Communication related subject up to the end of Key Stage 4. The Business and Communication specialism, along with languages and the core subjects, will promote an educational culture which actively promotes risk taking, entrepreneurialism and enterprise. The post-16 participation rate in Business and Communication related subjects will be very high and will help to provide students with the skills needed to progress into employment and into further and higher education according to individual abilities, aptitudes and ambitions.
